Exciting news is unfolding in Pennsylvania! On December 16, 2024, the stunning exterior rendering of the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple will be unveiled to the public, offering a first glimpse of this architectural gem. Nestled on a picturesque 5.36-acre site at 605 Rutherford Road in Harrisburg, this temple promises to be a beacon of hope and faith in the heart of the state capital.

Envisioned as a single-story marvel, the temple will encompass approximately 20,000 square feet, featuring a striking central tower that adds to its charm. Unlike many temples, the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple will not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, giving it a unique character. Inside, the design includes one instruction room, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, creating a serene environment for worship and reflection.

The announcement of this temple on April 2, 2023, during the General Conference by President Russell M. Nelson marked a momentous occasion, being the third temple promised for Pennsylvania. With roots deeply embedded in the history of the Church, the state holds a special significance; it was here in the Susquehanna Valley that the first members were baptized in May 1829, and vital translations of the Book of Mormon took place in Harmony.

As we await further developments, including the official groundbreaking date yet to be announced, excitement is building among the over 52,000 Church members in more than 100 congregations across the state. Join us in embracing this remarkable journey of faith as we look forward to the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple becoming a vibrant center for worship and community engagement in the coming years!
