Inside, the House of the Lord will comprise two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry. These spaces are designed to meet the needs of those seeking a deeper understanding and connection in their faith.

At the time of the announcement, there were approximately 53,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the area, spread across more than 100 meetinghouses. The Knoxville Tennessee Temple will be the third such establishment in the state, following the Memphis Tennessee Temple and the Nashville Tennessee Temple.
