The Knoxville Tennessee Temple is shaping up to be an exciting new spiritual home right in the heart of Tennessee! Announced by President Russell M. Nelson at the April 2022 General Conference, this temple is set to become a beautiful place for the Latter-day Saint community in the area.
Located along the scenic Tennessee River in Farragut, the temple will sit on a lovely 4.99-acre property at 13001 Kingston Pike. Its design features a charming single attached central tower, which will not only be visually striking but also symbolize the faith and unity of the community. Plans call for a spacious single-story building of around 30,000 square feet, offering plenty of room for worship and gatherings.
The groundbreaking ceremony was a wonderful event that took place on January 27, 2024, led by Elder Shayne M. Bowen, First Counselor in the North America Southeast Area Presidency. This was such an exciting milestone for everyone involved!
Set at an elevation of 989 feet, the Knoxville Tennessee Temple will boast beautiful views and provide a serene environment for reflection and prayer. On December 19, 2022, the official rendering was revealed, and it sparked a wave of excitement among local members who can’t wait to see it come to life!
With around 53,000 Latter-day Saints spread across more than 100 congregations in Tennessee, this temple is going to be a cherished addition to the community. It will serve as a special space for worship, connection, and spiritual growth.
As construction continues, the Knoxville Tennessee Temple represents hope and strengthens the bonds of faith within the community. It’s more than just a building; it’s a welcoming place where members can come together, deepen their spirituality, and support each other in their journeys of faith. Everyone is looking forward to what this beautiful temple will bring to the area!
