Exciting news for the community of Lehi, Utah! On April 7, 2024, President Russell M. Nelson made a momentous announcement during the 194th Annual General Conference: plans for the Lehi Utah Temple are officially underway. This beautiful temple will grace a stunning 22.48-acre site, located at the intersection of 3950 North and Center Street, right in the heart of Utah’s vibrant Silicon Slopes—the bustling tech hub of the region.
Designed with a graceful single attached central spire, the temple will stand at an impressive 85,000 square feet, inviting all to experience its serene architecture. Interestingly, this temple will not feature a gold-leafed angel moroni statue, marking a distinct choice in its design.
At an elevation of 4,085 feet, the temple will embody the spirit of Lehi, a place rich in history, having been first settled by pioneers in 1850. With nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints calling Utah home—making up around two-thirds of the state’s population—this temple will serve as a beacon of hope and a center for worship for the more than 5,400 congregations in the area.
Although a groundbreaking date has yet to be set, the anticipation is already building. The temple rendering, unveiled to the public on February 24, 2025, promises to showcase a stunning structure that will be more than just a building; it will be a sacred space for reflection, community, and connection. The Lehi Utah Temple is poised to become not just a spiritual landmark but a symbol of growth and unity in this bustling community. Keep an eye out for further updates as this exciting project takes shape!
