On October 2, 2022, history was made when President Russell M. Nelson unveiled the highly anticipated plans for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple during the exhilarating October 2022 General Conference! Nestled in the stunning northwest side of the Las Vegas metropolitan area, this temple promises to be a beacon of hope and faith for the nearly 180,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nevada—representing about 6% of the state’s vibrant population spread across more than 360 congregations. With this magnificent structure, Nevada will welcome its fourth temple, a sacred space that will inspire and uplift countless lives.
Fast forward to September 25, 2025—the excitement in the air was palpable as Elder Michael A. Dunn, First Counselor in the United States Southwest Area Presidency, presided over a momentous groundbreaking ceremony for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple. In his powerful dedicatory prayer, Elder Dunn called upon the covenant community to stand on the holy ground and reach toward the heavens. His words resonated deeply, reminding all present that this magnificent house of the Lord is a sacred connection between heaven and earth.
Spanning an impressive 19.8 acres, the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple will feature a stunning single attached central tower, standing tall at 196 feet. Covering a total of 70,194 square feet, this awe-inspiring temple will be a spiritual haven, uniquely positioned at an elevation of 2,557 feet, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
