Exploring the Vienna Austria Temple: A New Chapter in Spirituality

The announcement of the Vienna Austria Temple marks a significant development for the nation and its members. On April 4, 2021, President Russell M. Nelson shared the exciting news, urging everyone to “Keep your Temple covenants and blessings foremost in your minds and hearts. Stay true to the covenants you have made.” This statement reflects the profound importance of spiritual commitments that the Vienna Austria Temple aims to embody.

Set to rise on a generous 0.80-acre site, the Vienna Austria Temple will encompass 15,300 square feet and feature a multi-story design. Its elevation at 616 feet will lend it a majestic presence in the beautiful landscape of Austria. As the first house of the Lord established in the country, it serves as a milestone for nearly 4,700 members of the Church who currently meet across 17 congregations.

On March 23, 2026, an exterior rendering of this remarkable Vienna Austria Temple was unveiled, showcasing the vision for this sacred space. The design promises to integrate seamlessly with the cultural and architectural heritage of Vienna, creating a meaningful setting for its intended purposes.

This significant addition offers a dedicated place for spiritual growth and connection for the members in Austria, enhancing their experience and elevating their spiritual journey. The Vienna Austria Temple stands as a testament to faith and dedication, serving both the current and future generations of followers. As construction progresses, anticipation continues to build within the local community and beyond.
