On March 23, 2026, an exterior rendering for the Vienna Austria Temple was unveiled, bringing anticipation for what will be a significant location in the heart of Austria. Set to occupy a .80-acre site, this new addition will span 15,300 square feet and feature multiple levels, enhancing the architectural landscape of the area.

The announcement of the Vienna Austria Temple was made by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on April 4, 2021. In his message, he emphasized the importance of maintaining temple covenants, stating, “Keep your temple covenants and blessings foremost in your minds and hearts. Stay true to the covenants you have made.”

Situated at an elevation of 616 feet, the Vienna Austria Temple will serve the nearly 4,700 members of the Church residing in Austria, who currently gather in 17 congregations. This development marks a historic moment, as it will be the first house of the Lord in the country, offering new opportunities for spiritual enrichment and connection for members in the area.
