Winchester Virginia Temple

Rendering of the Winchester Virginia Temple was released on April 2, 2023

Exciting news for the community of Winchester, Virginia! The highly anticipated Winchester Virginia Temple is set to open its doors by late 2028, promising to be a beautiful addition to our area. Nestled on 11.27 acres at 200 Merrimans Lane, this stunning temple will serve over 97,000 residents across 215 congregations.

The vision for the Winchester Virginia Temple was unveiled by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson on April 2, 2023, and the community came together for a momentous groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony on August 9, 2025, led by Robert M. Daines.

With its impressive 30,000 square feet of space, the temple will feature a unique architectural design that includes a single attached end tower and forgoes the traditional gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue. Inside, you can expect two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, all designed to foster spiritual growth and community connection.

As we eagerly await construction progress, a stunning rendering of the temple was released on December 16, 2024, giving a sneak peek of what’s to come. Perched at an elevation of 820 feet, the temple will not only provide a place for worship but also stand as a monument to the faith and dedication of the local community.

Get ready to embrace this incredible journey as the Winchester Virginia Temple becomes a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come!
