Discover the Sacred Beauty of the San Antonio Texas Temple

Since its announcement on June 24, 2001, the San Antonio Texas Temple has stood as a beacon of faith and community in the vibrant city of San Antonio. The temple’s groundbreaking ceremony and site dedication, led by Elder H. Bruce Stucki on March 29, 2003, marked the beginning of a spiritual journey that would soon bring divine hope and devotion to thousands.

This remarkable temple is the 120th dedicated temple in operation — a testament to its importance within the global LDS community. Located at 20080 Stone Oak Pkwy, the temple proudly sits on a lush 5.5-acre plot of land, with its exterior crafted from elegant granite that reflects both strength and serenity.

A stunning architectural feature is its single attached spire, crowned with a breathtaking 13-foot-tall Angel Moroni statue adorned in shimmering gold leaf — a symbol of divine message and herald of the Second Coming. Inside, worshippers find a thoughtfully designed sanctuary with two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all contained within 16,800 square feet of spiritual space at an elevation of 1,225 feet.

The temple opened its doors to the public from April 15 through May 7, 2005, welcoming over 50,000 visitors during its well-attended open house, allowing many to marvel at its beauty and sanctity firsthand. On May 22, 2005, the temple was dedicated by none other than Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley, establishing it as a sacred hub of service, worship, and community.

Every detail of the San Antonio Texas Temple — from its commanding spire and radiant Angel Moroni to its peaceful granite exterior and inviting interior spaces — reflects the enduring faith and devotion of those it serves. It is a true cornerstone of hope and spiritual renewal for all who enter.
