An Official Announcement and Timeline

On May 1, 2021, the First Presidency made the official announcement about the Ephraim Utah Temple, setting in motion plans for what would become an important addition to The Church’s growing network of Temples. The momentum continued on August 27, 2022, when the Prophet Russell M. Nelson presided over the groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony, officially launching the construction phase of this ambitious undertaking.

Location and Specifications

The Ephraim Utah Temple is strategically located at 400 East 200 North, Ephraim, Utah 84627, positioning it centrally for accessibility throughout the region. Situated at an elevation of 5,567 feet above sea level, the Temple will encompass 39,000 square feet of beautifully designed religious space.

Interior Design and Functionality

The Temple’s interior has been thoughtfully planned to accommodate the sacred ordinances performed within its walls. The facility will feature:

  • Four instruction rooms, each capable of seating 30 people
  • Three sealing rooms for eternal marriage ceremonies
  • One baptistry for proxy baptismal work

This comprehensive layout ensures that members of The Church can participate in meaningful religious ceremonies and experiences.

Public Unveiling and Future Events

The public will have the opportunity to tour the Temple during a special media day scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026. Following the media day, private tours for invited guests will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
