The Lindon Utah Temple stands as a significant addition to the landscape of Utah County, embodying the vision and dedication of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Announced by the late President Russell M. Nelson in October 2020, construction for this spiritual destination commenced in April 2022. As anticipation builds, public access is set to begin on March 12, 2026, continuing until April 11, 2026, with the exception of Sundays and April 4.

Members of the media recently had the unique opportunity to tour the temple and hear insights from Church officials, further amplifying the excitement surrounding this new site. James Rasband, a General Authority Seventy, expressed enthusiasm about expanding the presence of temples in Utah County. “We’re so excited that we have another temple here in Utah County where we have so many saints who are eager to make the Temple a part of their daily worship,” he stated.

The state of Utah is home to an impressive 2.2 million Church members, making it an essential location for temples. The Lindon Utah Temple joins 31 other temples that are either operational, under construction, or announced in the state, marking a continued commitment to providing spiritual opportunities for members.

A distinctive feature of the Lindon Utah Temple is its thoughtful design, which incorporates elements reflecting the natural beauty of the surrounding area. One such motif is the Lindon flower, derived from the city’s namesake, the Lindon tree, which plays a notable role in the area’s history. “That is true of temples around the world, small touches that are reminders of that area to tie the temple to the people of the area,” Rasband noted.

With the increasing number of members in Utah, the necessity for accessible spaces for spiritual activities is paramount. Rasband emphasized the temple’s importance for youth, stating, “For us, if it’s not an option for them to be in the temple as much as they want, particularly with our youth who want to be in the temple to participate in ordinances, this makes it available for more of our youth.”

The Lindon Utah Temple not only enhances the spiritual fabric of Utah County but also reaffirms the Church’s mission to foster environments where members can deepen their faith and strengthen their personal connections. As its doors prepare to open to the public, excitement continues to grow, promising a bright future for all who embrace its teachings.
