The Boston Massachusetts Temple holds the distinction of being the 100th dedicated Temple in operation. Announced on September 30, 1995, it has since become an integral part of the local landscape. The groundbreaking on June 13, 1997, led by Apostle Richard G. Scott, marked the official beginning of this significant construction effort.
After a public open house from August 29 to September 23, 2000, the Temple was dedicated by Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley on October 1, 2000, marking a momentous occasion for the region. The dedication came just a year after the conclusion of official construction work, an achievement that resonates within the local narrative.
Architectural Elegance
Spanning 69,900 square feet and reaching a height of 139 feet at an elevation of 331 feet, the Temple’s design reflects both beauty and functionality.
