After years of dedicated effort, the doors were opened for a public open house spanning from August 29 to September 23, 2000. This allowed many to tour the impressive facility before its formal dedication on October 1, 2000, conducted by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
Architectural Features
Set on an expansive 8-acre site, the temple covers 69,900 square feet and reaches a height of 139 feet, with an elevation of 331 feet. Its exterior is clad in striking Olympia white granite, making it a visually stunning addition to the Belmont skyline. An eye-catching feature is the single attached end spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, which was added later, on September 21, 2011.
