Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Addition to Utah’s Temple Landscape
Excitement is building as the Heber Valley Utah Temple progresses toward completion. Located at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, this upcoming addition is poised to enrich the spiritual fabric of the area.
The Heber Valley Utah Temple was first announced on October 3, 2021, during the General Conference, and it marked an important milestone for the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, officiated by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson.
Occupying an expansive 18.17 acres, this large Temple will boast a stunning architectural design featuring two attached end towers but will notably not include a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. With a total area of 87,626 square feet, it proudly qualifies as one of the larger Temples in the Church’s collection, which defines “large” as anything over 80,000 square feet.
The design includes four instructional rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, catering to a variety of ceremonies and functions. Standing at a height of 210 feet, it will grace the beautiful landscapes of Heber Valley, which is known for its picturesque rural mountain views in Wasatch County, just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City. Once completed, the Temple will sit at an elevation of 6,711 feet, enhancing its stunning presence in the valley.
Recently, the construction injunction that had been in place was lifted, allowing work to progress smoothly. Furthermore, the Temple rendering was revealed to the public on September 19, 2022, showcasing what this spiritual haven will look like upon completion.
Once opened, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will become the 28th Temple in Utah, adding to the rich tapestry of spiritual sites in the state. This new addition is anticipated to bring individuals and families together, nurturing personal growth and encouraging faith practices.
Stay tuned for more updates as this remarkable project continues to take shape in the heart of Heber Valley.
