Exciting news for members of the church! On April 6, 2025, during the 195th Annual General Conference, Prophet Russell M. Nelson announced the plans for the Rapid City South Dakota Temple. While we eagerly await more details, it’s notable that there’s currently no official rendering of the temple, as it remains in the planning stages.

As of the announcement, Rapid City is home to over 11,500 members and 30 congregations, showcasing a vibrant Temple eager for this addition. The chosen location for this sacred space will be nestled in the stunning Black Hills, near the iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial, offering a breathtaking backdrop for Temple work and reflection. 

The anticipation is building, and it’s a wonderful time for the Rapid City Temple as they prepare to welcome this future temple! Keep an eye out for updates as plans develop!
