The groundbreaking on November 7, 2020, led by the esteemed Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland, honored the pioneers who once toiled in this region, laying the groundwork for the beautiful St. George Temple, a Temple of faith for over 150 years. Today, the Red Cliffs Utah Temple, occupying 15.31 acres, becomes the 189th dedicated Temple in operation, embodying both tradition and modernity. Apostle Jeffrey R. Holland said, “We salute those pioneers who, with sacrifice and sweat, built just a mile or so away the beautiful St. George temple that has provided a symbolic anchor of our faith in this part of the state for a century and a half.”
As you approach the Red Cliffs Utah Temple at 1555 S Red Cliffs Temple Ln, you’ll be enchanted by the palm trees lining the entrance boulevard, guiding you toward a space designed for spiritual renewal. The Temple, with its remarkable height of 230 feet, features a striking single spire topped with a gold-leafed angel moroni statue, a sight that inspires awe and reverence.
The open house was from February 1 to March 2, 2024, led by Apostle Henry B. Eyring, before its dedication on March 24, 2024. As you explore the 96,277 square feet of sacred space, you’ll discover four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and a peaceful baptistry adorned with designs reflecting the members flora, such as succulents and the vibrant Indian paintbrush.
