Syracuse Temple
Nestled in the heart of Utah, the Syracuse Utah Temple stands as the 206th Temple in operation and the 24th within the state. This remarkable addition comes shortly after the Bountiful Utah Temple, established in 1995, and the Layton Utah Temple, which is anticipated to open in 2024.
A Rich History and Significant Milestones
The journey for the Syracuse Utah Temple began when it was officially announced on April 5, 2020, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. Following this momentous occasion, the groundbreaking and site dedication unfolded on June 12, 2021. Kevin R. Duncan presided over the event, emphasizing the historical significance of the location: “We recognize the great legacy of faith and sacrifice that has been passed down from the pioneers who settled in this area where a new Temple will soon stand.”
The Temple covers an extensive area of 12 acres, the construction of which was carefully designed to incorporate various elements essential for its purpose.
Key Features and Architectural Design
The Syracuse Utah Temple boasts an exterior finish of stunning white moncini granite. It features a single attached end spire, intriguingly without a gold-leafed angel moroni statue. Inside, the Temple is designed for optimal functionality, including four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and two baptistries. With a total floor area of 90,526 square feet and a height of 219.8 feet, its impressive design is sure to captivate.
