The Mesa Arizona Temple is a truly special place! It’s the seventh temple that’s currently in operation and is located at 101 S. LeSueur in Mesa, Arizona, 85204. This beautiful Temple was announced way back on October 9, 1919, and it’s been a wonderful addition to the community.
If you missed the public open house, which took place from October 16th to November 20th, 2021, it was a great opportunity to see the temple inside and out, all thanks to the wonderful words of Prophet Dallin H. Oaks.
Covering 20 acres, the Mesa Arizona Temple boasts an impressive exterior finish of concrete reinforced with 130 tons of steel, beautifully adorned with a glazed eggshell look. Its architectural features include a flat roof with sculpted friezes that add to its charm.
Inside, you’ll find four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all within a spacious 75,000 square feet. Standing tall at 53 feet high and nestled at an elevation of 1,240 feet, it’s an eye-catching landmark.
Fun fact: this wonderful temple was the first one built in Arizona and was originally named the Arizona Temple! Over the years, it has transitioned from live acting to more modern displays. Plus, the friezes on the corners of the temple beautifully symbolize Isaiah’s promise for the last days.
It’s truly a remarkable place filled with history and significance!
