Lehi Utah Temple: A New Beacon of Faith in the Community

The anticipation surrounding the Lehi Utah Temple continues to build, reflecting the commitment and growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the area. With numerous exciting developments currently taking place, let’s delve into what we know about this remarkable temple project.

Announced Plans and Location

The Lehi Utah Temple was officially announced on April 7, 2024, during the 194th General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following this announcement, the official location was revealed on April 22, 2024. The temple will be situated at 3950 N Center St, Lehi, Utah 84043, strategically located to serve the growing congregation in the region.

Size and Design

This impressive temple will cover 85,000 square feet, making it the 30th temple in the state of Utah. The Lehi Utah Temple is designed with a single attached central spire, showcasing a modern aesthetic that reflects both beauty and tranquility. Notably, this temple will not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni atop the spire, setting it apart from many other temples throughout the state and beyond.

Site Features

The Lehi Utah Temple will be built on a 22.48-acre site, providing ample space not only for the temple itself but also for the community surrounding it. One key feature of this development is that the temple will share a parking lot with a newly constructed meetinghouse, demonstrating a commitment to fostering community spirit and accessibility for all members.

Planning and Future Developments

As of now, the Lehi Utah Temple is still in the planning stages, with an official construction date yet to be announced. However, progress is already being made, including the installation of a retaining wall on the site—an essential step in preparing for eventual construction.

On February 24, 2025, a beautiful rendering of the temple was released to the public, giving the community a first glimpse of what promises to be a stunning addition to Lehi’s landscape.

Community Impact

With approximately 2.2 million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah and about 5,400 congregations in the state, the Lehi Utah Temple will certainly play a significant role in meeting the spiritual needs of the local community. Positioned at an elevation of 4,985 feet, the temple will serve as a symbol of hope and faith to many.
