Big news is coming to the Willamette Valley! The Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is gearing up for its public open house, which kicks off on April 23, 2026, and will culminate in a grand dedication on June 7, 2026. This announcement comes from President Russell M. Nelson, who revealed the plans on April 4, 2021, marking a momentous occasion for the 154,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oregon, where there are currently over 300 congregations.
Located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, this stunning temple sits on 10.5 acres and features an elegant architectural design, highlighted by its beautiful central spire rising 120 feet above the ground. With a spacious interior of 30,000 square feet, the temple is designed to foster reflection and connection, boasting two instructional rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry.
The journey to this remarkable moment began with a groundbreaking ceremony on October 29, 2022, led by Elder Valeri V. Cordón. As the community prepares for this transformative addition, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the rich history of Latter-day Saint settlers who first arrived in the area back in 1887.
Get excited for the future, because the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is set to become a beacon of hope, peace, and community for everyone! Mark your calendars and get ready to experience all the beauty and inspiration this new temple will bring!
