Join in the festive spirit this holiday season at Temple Square, where the stunning lights shine bright as a beacon of joy! The tradition of Christ Centered displays outside the global headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to spread holiday cheer with free activities for everyone to enjoy.
As you stroll through the beautifully illuminated grounds, you may notice that more areas of Temple Square are now open to the public, even as renovation efforts are underway. While the majestic Salt Lake Temple is covered in scaffolding, its grand reopening is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for April 2027 it’s bound to be a celebration you won’t want to miss.
The twinkling lights are on display every day from 6 to 8 a.m. and again from 430 to 10 p.m. until January 1. The festive atmosphere extends beyond Temple Square with other holiday highlights in downtown Salt Lake City, including the grand Christmas tree at City Creek Center, the enchanting candy windows at Macy’s, the seasonal art installation The Turning Season at Eccles Theater, and the delightful ice rink coupled with the Glow installation at Gallivan Center.

Dining Delights Treat yourself to a holiday meal at The Roof restaurant. Located on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, this beautifully remodeled spot reopened on November 14 and is now accepting holiday reservations.
Cultural Experiences The Church History Museum is bursting with holiday spirit! Check out musical performances from local schools and community groups, marvel at the Victorian Christmas decor in the Drawing Room, and contribute to the church’s Giving Machines in the lobby. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays.
Art and Music Be inspired by large scale, Christmasthemed artwork at the Conference Center, available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. And for a special Sunday treat, enjoy the live performances of “Music and the Spoken Word at 9:30 a.m., with a standout show featuring Block and Arcelus on December 14. Best of all, admission is free no tickets needed!
Theatrical Performances Experience the powerful “Savior of the World theatrical production, taking place daily (except Sundays and Mondays) at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center’s Little Theater through December 27. There’s a standby line for tickets, so even if you missed out, you may still catch the show!
