Nestled on an 8-acre wooded granite hillside in Belmont, Massachusetts, the Boston Massachusetts Temple stands proudly as the 100th dedicated temple in operation. A Journey Through Time

The journey to the temple’s completion began on September 30, 1995, when its construction was announced. Following two years of anticipation, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place on June 13, 1997, led by Apostle Richard G. Scott. After years of dedicated effort, the temple opened its doors to the public for an open house from August 29 to September 23, 2000. This event provided a unique opportunity for individuals and families to explore the elegant design and intricate details of the building.

Spanning 69,900 square feet and reaching a height of 139 feet at an elevation of 331 feet, the temple boasts a breathtaking design accentuated by its exterior finish of Olympia white granite. One of its notable architectural features is the single attached end spire adorned with a gold-leafed statue of Angel Moroni. Although this statue wasn’t added until September 21, 2011, it enhances the temple’s elegance and beauty.

Inside, the temple comprises four instructional rooms, four sealing rooms, and a singular baptistry, providing a peaceful space for various ceremonies and educational activities. The design prioritizes a sense of tranquility and reverence, drawing visitors into a unique atmosphere.
