A Milestone in Dedication
The journey to the completion of the Deseret Peak Utah Temple began on April 7, 2019, when the announcement was made by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. Groundbreaking followed on May 15, 2021, conducted by Elder Brook P. Hales, a local General Authority. On November 10, 2024, Russell M. Nelson dedicated this significant space.
Architectural Features
The exterior of the Deseret Peak Utah Temple showcases a stunning finish made of glass fiber-reinforced concrete. It is designed with a single attached central tower, which is built to accommodate an Angel Moroni Statue in the future, much like several other Temples.
Inside, the Temple features four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, providing ample spaces for its sacred functions. With a floor area of 71,998 square feet, it sits comfortably within the medium classification of Temples, as it falls between 40,000 and 80,000 square feet. While some may categorize Temples solely by their size, it’s essential to remember that the significance of the ordinances performed within them remains paramount.
