Nestled on a stunning bluff that overlooks Utah Lake and the Wasatch Front, the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple stands as an impressive addition to the region, boasting a total area of 87,836 square feet. This architectural marvel was dedicated on August 13, 2023, by Apostle Henry B. Eyring, marking its significance as the 179th dedicated Temple in operation.

The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple was officially announced by Prophet Thomas S. Monson on April 2, 2017, during General Conference. Subsequent to its announcement, the groundbreaking and dedication of the site took place on October 19, 2018, led by Craig C. Christensen. During this event, Christensen noted the profound impact this Temple would have on individuals and families, emphasizing its role in sacred covenants and as a blessing to future generations.
The public open house took place from April 15 to July 8, 2023, lasting a total of 84 days, allowing many to experience its beauty and intricacies before its dedication.

Spanning 22.71 acres, the Temple features an exterior adorned with beige precast concrete panels that are eight inches thick. The central spire, crowned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, is made from glass fiber reinforced concrete, adding both elegance and stability to the design. The Temple’s construction incorporates steel with concrete shear walls and floor slabs, ensuring its durability.
Decorative elements include a band around the building that captures the essence of the local landscape, featuring mountain designs and representations of wetlands and snowy egrets, which also serves as the logo for Saratoga Springs City. Art glass stained windows are inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, showcasing the natural beauty of Utah Lake and the Wasatch Mountains through vibrant colors of purples, blues, greens, and golds.

Inside, the temple boasts four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and one baptistry. The interior flooring combines carpet, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, glass tile, and stone, with custom designs intricately carved on-site. The baptistry, in particular, features interior glass tiles in various shades of blues, whites, creams, and purples.
Stylized wildflowers, including the iris, daisy, and chrysanthemum, are depicted throughout the Temple, along with wave patterns referencing the nearby water sources. The main level’s art glass in the baptistry displays snowy egrets among wetlands, mirroring the local flora and fauna.
The craftsmanship extends to the millwork, where Sapele African Mahogany is prominently used for doors, furniture, and decorative fixtures, embodying a refined Art Deco style. The light fixtures in the bride’s room are particularly noteworthy, featuring a Schonbek design that enhances the overall aesthetic.

Set at an elevation of 4,652 feet, the Temple’s location allows for expansive views of the valley with a landscape designed to incorporate local plant species, promoting sustainability and harmony with the environment. As the eighteenth Temple to be built in Utah and the fifth in Utah County, the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple represents the growth and development of this relatively new community, which was incorporated in 1997. It shares a parking lot with a new meetinghouse, fostering connections within the area.
