In the heart of Provo, once stood a treasured shrine,
A testament of faith, with memories entwined.
The “spaceship” and “cupcake,” so lovingly named,
Held the whispers of prayers, the hopes unclaimed.
Yet the winds of change beckon, urging us to grow,
As the old temple yields, to the new light that glows.
The Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple takes its form,
A symbol of resilience, where faith will transform.
The foundation now stands, strong and true,
With a spire rising high, reaching for skies so blue.
Windows are being placed, framing light divine,
As the once-missing view begins to brightly shine.
For many, the loss of the familiar brings pain;
A journey through sorrow, a bittersweet gain.
The quirky design that sparked joy and delight
Now gives way to a vision—new horizons in sight.
When the church announced the change in twenty-one,
Voices rose in unison, a heartfelt appeal was begun.
To preserve the old structure, to hold on to the past,
Yet time moves us forward; the future is cast.
In faith, we find solace, through change we endure,
For this new temple will nurture, a promise secure.
As hearts gather round in reverence and grace,
New stories will blossom in this sacred space.
Though memories linger of the temple now gone,
Hope springs eternal—new life will be drawn.
