LDS Temple News is excited to announce a remarkable milestone with the upcoming Farmington, New Mexico, Temple. This temple will be the second of its kind in the state for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solidifying our commitment to expanding our community presence. President Russell M. Nelson confidently introduced this significant project in April 2021, and we marked a pivotal moment with a groundbreaking ceremony led by Elder Anthony D. Perkins on April 30, 2022. The new temple will proudly stand on a scenic 6.62-acre site at the intersection of College Boulevard and Windsor Drive. This impressive single-story sanctuary will encompass approximately 25,000 square feet and will include a community meetinghouse. The thoughtfully crafted design of the temple will honor local heritage, seamlessly blending American influences with native flora to reflect the vibrant culture surrounding it.
