Exploring the Gilbert Arizona Temple

Nestled at 3301 S Greenfield Rd, Gilbert, Arizona 85297, the Gilbert Arizona Temple stands as the 142nd dedicated Temple in operation. Since its announcement on April 26, 2008, this remarkable building has become a significant part of the local landscape.

The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on November 13, 2010, officiated by Elder Claudio R.M. Costa. Following several years of construction, the Temple opened its doors for a public open house from January 18 through February 15, 2014, drawing an impressive 407,020 attendees. This event offered a glimpse into the exquisite interiors and thoughtful design of this expansive facility.

On March 2, 2014, the Temple was dedicated by Prophet Thomas S. Monson, with the ceremony read by Henry B. Eyring. Spanning 85,326 square feet and set on a generous 15.38 acres, the Temple features a striking exterior finish of precast concrete panels. Its striking architectural design is accentuated by a single attached central spire, topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue placed on May 15, 2012.

Inside, the Gilbert Arizona Temple houses three instruction rooms, seven sealing rooms, and one baptistry, providing essential spaces for various ceremonies and events. The building reaches a height of 195 feet and is situated at an elevation of 1,269 feet, offering a commanding presence in the surrounding area.
