The Montpelier Idaho Temple is progressing rapidly. The parking lot is striped, and exterior lighting is operational. Landscaping and interior work are underway, with construction expected to finish by early to mid-2026. An open house and dedication ceremony will follow.
Announced on May 20, 2022, this will be the eighth temple in Idaho, located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254. The temple features a central tower and covers 27,000 square feet, including two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry.
Built at an elevation of 5,969 feet on 2.6 acres, the temple seamlessly integrates into the Idaho landscape. The groundbreaking took place on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, who offered blessings for everyone involved.
Montpelier has a population of over 2,500 and has a rich history dating back to 1855. The official rendering of the temple was revealed on April 24, 2023.
