Its distinctive exterior is elegantly adorned with Salisbury pink granite sourced from North Carolina, giving it a warm and inviting glow that complements the coastal scenery.
The temple’s architectural features are equally breathtaking, highlighted by a single attached tower topped with a stunning gold-leafed angel Moroni statue, which was placed on the temple on January 13, 2005. Inside, guests can find two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all designed to serve the spiritual needs of the community.
Marking a significant milestone in its history, the Newport Beach California Temple was announced on April 21, 2001, with the groundbreaking and site dedication taking place on August 15, 2003, led by Duane B. Gerrard. After extensive preparation, the temple opened its doors to the public from July 23 to August 20, 2005, inviting visitors to explore its sacred spaces before its dedication. The momentous occasion of the temple’s dedication occurred on August 28, 2005, officiated by the beloved Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley.
