Welcome to the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, a beautiful spot in Yukon, Oklahoma! This wonderful temple, the 95th in operation, is all about community and hope. Its journey began with excitement when it was announced on March 14, 1999.

The groundbreaking ceremony on July 3, 1999, led by Elder Rex D. Pinegar was just the start! After lots of hard work, the temple welcomed its first visitors during a public open house from July 8 to July 22, 2000. It was such a joy to see people from all around come together to explore this peaceful place. Then, on July 30, 2000, Apostle James E. Faust led the beautiful dedication, which filled everyone with pride and happiness.

Isn’t the temple stunning? With its warm beige limestone exterior and an impressive spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, it’s a sight to behold. The grounds are serene and inviting, featuring a lovely fountain that adds to the tranquility. Inside, you’ll find gorgeous Italian marble and spacious areas, including two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all designed for meaningful experiences.

The Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple is special because it serves not just Oklahomans but also friends from neighboring states like Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri! How wonderful is that? It even had a second public open house from April 24 to May 1, 2019, allowing even more people to visit before its rededication on May 19, 2019, by Apostle Henry B. Eyring after some exciting renovations.

At 83 feet 9 inches tall and sitting at an elevation of 1,202 feet, the temple really does stand out as a symbol of hope and community. Being the first temple built in Oklahoma, it proudly served a district of 9,000 members when it was dedicated. With its friendly atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple is a treasured place for everyone who visits. We can’t wait for you to come and experience its warmth and peace!
