Welcome to the Orem Utah Temple, the 188th temple dedicated for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Nestled at 1451 S 1100 W in the beautiful city of Orem, Utah, this stunning temple is more than just a building; it’s a welcoming sanctuary for all who seek peace and guidance in their lives.

The temple’s journey began on October 5, 2019, when the exciting announcement was made, igniting enthusiasm throughout the community. Just a year later, on September 5, 2020, a heartfelt groundbreaking ceremony took place, led by Elder Craig C. Christensen. This special occasion saw members of the Williamson family—who sold the land for the temple—attend, adding a personal touch to the event.

After much anticipation, the temple opened its doors for a public open house from October 27 to December 16, 2023. It was a joy to welcome visitors who came to explore this beautiful space before its official dedication. Spanning 15.39 acres, the temple features a magnificent exterior made of gorgeous pedras salgadas granite sourced from Portugal, along with elegant bronze-colored doors to greet everyone warmly.

As you approach the temple, you’ll be captivated by its unique design—a stunning three-story structure topped with a lovely, slender spire. Inside, you’ll find around 71,998 square feet of serene space, featuring four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and one baptistry, all designed to uplift and inspire.

One of the standout features of the temple is its beautiful windows, adorned with lovely taupe art glass that showcases cherry blossoms and the wetlands around Utah Lake. These designs perfectly reflect the beauty of the local landscape, making the interior feel even more inviting. Speaking of interiors, the flooring is crafted from exquisite Crema Marfil marble from Turkey, with charming patterns that include colors of cream, red, and green—perfect for creating a warm atmosphere.

The surrounding landscape is just as delightful, filled with vibrant Norwegian sunset maples, snow queen hydrangeas, and delightful whirling butterflies. It’s a beautiful setting that invites everyone to enjoy the natural beauty around the temple.

Elder Christensen described the Orem Utah Temple as “an added refuge of strength in an increasingly uncertain world.” It truly serves as a haven where individuals and families can come together, strengthen their faith, and find moments of peace. With the local community growing rapidly—with 26 stakes and counting—the temple meets the spiritual needs of many, creating a special place for connection and belonging.

So come visit the Orem Utah Temple and experience its beauty, warmth, and the peace it offers. It’s a wonderful place to reflect, rejoice, and grow in faith!
