On September 7, 2024, the Wichita Kansas Temple’s groundbreaking and site dedication took place, an event led by Steven Bangerter. Situated on a generous 6.42 acres, the Temple is strategically positioned in Wichita, the most populous city in Kansas.
Architecturally, the Wichita Kansas Temple features a distinct design characterized by a single attached central tower, which gives it a unique silhouette against the Wichita skyline. Notably, this Temple does not include the traditional gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, allowing it to maintain a contemporary aesthetic while being deeply rooted in tradition. Inside, the Temple boasts a spacious 9,950 square feet, thoughtfully arranged to include one instruction room, one sealing room, and one baptistry, each meticulously designed to facilitate meaningful Temple work experiences. Additionally, the Temple is situated at an elevation of 1,327 feet, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
