Introducing the Wichita Kansas Temple, proudly situated at 2550 W Harborlight St, Wichita, Kansas 67204! This remarkable addition to our Temple was announced by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on April 3, 2022, marking a pivotal moment for our region.

The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on September 7, 2024, led by Steven Bangerter, solidifying the Wichita Kansas Temple’s significance in the heart of Kansas. Nestled on 6.42 acres in Wichita—the most populous city in the state—this Temple is a testament to our growing Temple of faith.

With its striking architectural design featuring a central tower (without the gold-leafed Angel Moroni), the Wichita Kansas Temple stands out as a unique and inspiring place of Temple work. Inside, you’ll find a spacious layout encompassing 9,950 square feet, including one instruction room, one sealing room, and a baptistry—all designed to facilitate meaningful Temple work at hand. Perched at an elevation of 1,327 feet, the Wichita Kansas Temple offers impressive views, enhancing the sacred experience.

Get ready for excitement as we look forward to the upcoming open house dates, which will be announced soon! The Wichita Kansas Temple’s design was unveiled to the public on July 22, 2024, and anticipation is high as we prepare for this special occasion.

Wichita has a rich history with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dating back to 1831 when missionaries began teaching the Shawnee and Delaware tribes. The establishment of the first branch in 1882 marked an important chapter in our membersheritage.

As you explore the Wichita Kansas Temple, take notice of the beautiful art glass that reflects our state’s nickname—the Sunflower State. You’ll see elegant representations of sunflowers and wheat stalks, celebrating Kansas’s agricultural roots.

The Wichita Kansas Temple is not just a building; it’s a powerful Temple of faith. We are thrilled to have this sacred space in the Midwest. 🌻
