Willamette Valley Oregon Temple Celestial Room
On April 4, 2021, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans for the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple, reflecting the growing presence of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the region. Since settlers first arrived in Oregon in 1887, the Latter-day Saint population has flourished to over 154,000 members across more than 300 congregations. The Willamette Valley Oregon Temple, located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, occupies 10.5 acres and becomes the third house of the Lord in the state, complementing existing temples in Medford and Portland.
Groundbreaking Ceremony
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple took place on October 29, 2022, presided over by Elder Valeri V. Cordón. This event marked a pivotal step in turning the vision of the Temple into reality, laying the foundation for a space dedicated to faith and community connection.

Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will take place on June 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2:00 p.m.
Reflecting on Purpose
As President Russell M. Nelson stated, “Temples are a vital part of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness. Ordinances of the temple fill our lives with power and strength available in no other way. We thank God for those blessings.” The Willamette Valley Oregon Temple promises to be a beacon of faith and a source of strength for the thousands of Latter-day Saints residing in Oregon.
This new Temple not only serves a growing population but also stands as a testament to the commitment and faith of its members, enriching the spiritual landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
