The Yorba Linda California Temple: A New Celebration of Faith

Nestled in the picturesque setting of Yorba Linda, California, the Yorba Linda California Temple is set to become a cherished addition to the region’s spiritual landscape. Announced on April 4, 2021, this significant construction is a testament to the dedication and commitment to faith in the area.

Architectural Marvel

Occupying 5.46 acres, the Yorba Linda California Temple spans 30,872 square feet and stands at a height of 70 feet. Its elegant exterior showcases beautiful white blanco macael marble paired with pink and gray rosa porrino granite accents. Unique architectural features include a single attached end tower, and there is no gold-leafed angel moroni statue crowning the structure.

The temple’s interior is just as remarkable, adorned with an array of premium materials. Botticino Classico Extra marble takes center stage, complemented by various other exquisite stones, including BS Beige marble, Costa Esmeralda granite, and several types of Giallo marble. Decorative paint designs within the temple reflect colors inspired by the local landscape and historic Spanish Mission buildings. Select areas feature stunning 24-karat gold leaf accents, lending an air of elegance throughout.

Functional Spaces

Within its walls, the Yorba Linda California Temple is designed to accommodate various sacred functions. Features include two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, ensuring that all who utilize the facility can find what they need for their spiritual journeys.

Art glass patterns seamlessly integrate with the architectural design, incorporating elements inspired by traditional Spanish Mission aesthetics. The hues of green, blue, soft white, orange, and yellow shine through the custom jewels embedded within the glass, creating an inviting atmosphere.

A Timeline of Milestones

The journey for the Yorba Linda California Temple began with its groundbreaking and site dedication, held on June 18, 2022, by Elder Mark A. Bragg. He noted, “It is an honor to be here on this beautiful California summer day to dedicate this site for the construction of a sacred temple.”

Mark your calendars for significant upcoming dates: an open house is scheduled from April 30 to May 23, 2026, leading to the temple’s dedication on June 7, 2026. These moments promise to be filled with anticipation and joy as the community prepares to embrace this new chapter.

Interiors that Inspire

The interior ambiance is enhanced by light fixtures that expertly combine crystal, gold-colored metal, satin brass, and plated stainless steel. Notably, the bride’s room features exquisite Murano glass fixtures, while crystal chandeliers and sconces illuminate key areas, enriching the experience within.

Quality materials extend throughout the temple, such as plain-sliced sapele veneer and solids, with painted poplar and maple millwork found in select areas. The baptismal font boasts bronze railings with a satin brushed finish, complemented by clear tempered glass accented with decorative etching.

Moreover, the ceilings are intricately designed, featuring gypsum board with decorative paint, millwork box beams, and molding, showcasing GFRG corbels and medallions for a visually stunning experience.

Original Artwork

Adding to its cultural significance, the temple features four original pieces of artwork that celebrate sacred themes alongside the natural beauty of Southern California, enriching the spiritual atmosphere further.

As plans move forward, the Yorba Linda California Temple stands as a testament to faith, craftsmanship, and community spirit. The excitement is palpable, and the completion of this beautiful space is eagerly anticipated.
